BOYS BRIGADE

HISTORY

The Boys' Brigade is a uniformed Christian organisation that works with boys of all ages. BB works with around 60,000 young people in the UK and Republic of Ireland every week, many of whom have no other connection with the Church.

The Boys' Brigade provides a balanced programme of activities for children and young people that have been developed to help volunteer youth leaders work in a relevant and creative way.

OBJECT

The Boys' Brigade has been around for over 125 years and was founded by Sir William Alexander Smith. Sir William developed the object of the Boys Brigade and this is still our object today.

MOTTO

"The advancement of Christ's kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness."

The motto of the Boys' Brigade is,

"SURE AND STEADFAST"
